The interior of the Coogee Pavilion comes from the idea of a fictional character named “Wylie”, an eccentric botanist who once lived in this place. The three-level layout was conceived as being an abandoned laboratory where Wylie once experimented as well as an entertaining area, a greenhouse and a more secluded space which delves deeper into his travels and experiences.

I like the retro vibe of this venue. The handwritten signage (designed by Lynes & Co) gives a very personalized touch. Eclectic found objects are exhibited under glass tables and on shelves as a wunderkammer collection. The reference to the ocean suits the beach front location.
